Edinburgh Business School Alumni Club, Dubai
Over 50 alumni and students from around the Gulf region gathered at the Al-Murooj Rotana, Dubai on 14 May 2008 to attend an evening dinner reception hosted by Edinburgh Business School.
Professor Keith Lumsden, Director of EBS and Alick Kitchin, EBS's Business Director, were in Dubai to attend the event; they spoke about EBS's presence in the Middle East and the new Arabic translation of MBA courses.
Tarek Hassib, EBS's Alumni Ambassador in Egypt, travelled to Dubai for the reception; he spoke about the EBS alumni club and its importance for networking with fellow graduates, especially through the wEBSpace networking site. The MBA programme is now taught at the Heriot-Watt University campus in Dubai.

EBS graduates attend SBCS graduation function in Trinidad

On 19 April 2008, 39 graduates of Edinburgh Business School and Heriot-Watt University attended a graduation-style event at the School of Business and Computer Science, Trinidad (SBCS), one of Heriot-Watt University's longest standing Approved Learning Partners.
The annual event is held to honour the achievements of the graduates of five UK universities that SBCS has a relationship with, one of which is Heriot-Watt University.
The ceremony, attended by over 650 people, was presided over by Robin Maraj, SBCS's Executive Director. The keynote speaker was Professor Keith Lumsden, Director of Edinburgh Business School, who travelled to Trinidad especially for the event.
The formal ceremony at the Centre of Excellence, Tunapuna, Trinidad was followed by cocktails and music from one of Trinidad's steel bands.
EBS hosts evening for alumni and students in the Cayman Islands

Edinburgh Business School hosted an evening for alumni and students on 9 April 2008 at the Marriott Beach Resort in Georgetown, Cayman Islands.
The event, hosted by Daniel Pease (President of EBS Americas), gave alumni and students of EBS programmes an opportunity to share views and experiences from their MBA studies.

Heriot-Watt University hosts graduation ceremony in Kuala Lumpur

Heriot-Watt University was delighted to welcome graduands and graduates to two days of graduation ceremonies at the Crowne Plaza in Kuala Lumpur on 15 and 16 December 2007. Many who had studied by distance learning on Heriot-Watt and Edinburgh Business School programmes attended the weekend of celebrations to have their degrees conferred.
University Principal, Professor Anton Muscatelli, with senior University colleagues including Vice-Principal Professor Brian Smart and Professor Brian Robertson, were present to congratulate students and welcome them as new alumni. Friends and family joined the graduates after the ceremonies for a traditional high tea.
Heriot-Watt University Club (Hong Kong) hold their annual dinner

The Heriot-Watt University Club (Hong Kong), together with Hong Kong Polytechnic University, held an annual dinner celebration on Saturday 17 November 2007.
Peter Wilson (Secretary of Heriot-Watt University), Professor Alexander Roberts (Edinburgh Business School) and Sharah Tsui (Regional Director of EBS) attended the event at the Metropark Hotel in Wanchai, Hong Kong. Over 30 alumni and students gathered to mark the occasion.
Professor Keith Lumsden joins EBS alumni and students in Los Angeles, USA

Edinburgh Business School hosted an event on 29 October 2007 at the Biltmore Millennium in Los Angeles, USA. Twenty-five alumni and students attended the event; over drinks and canapés, they shared their recent and past experiences.
Daniel Pease (President of EBS Americas) hosted the event and introduced keynote speaker Professor Keith Lumsden (Director of EBS), who shared his creative vision of how he took the EBS MBA programme and made it one of the most respected around the world.
Andrew Lewis (Consul for Trade and Investment for the British Consulate in Los Angeles and a current student on the programme) and Alex Simonini (Vice President of the US West Region for Scottish Development International and the current EBS Local Alumni Ambassador in the US) spoke of their personal experiences of the MBA programme. They shared similar views on the knowledge gained through each course, the sense of accomplishment received after successfully passing each examination, and the value they have derived from the EBS MBA.
Edinburgh Business School Alumni Club, South Africa

On 24 October 2007, a group of South African Edinburgh Business School alumni met in Johannesburg for the second alumni event of the chapter.
Organised by local ambassador Carlos de Matos, the event was hosted at the offices of Martin Morris, CEO of Financial Mentors, and featured a motivating presentation by leading entrepreneurial advisor, Hilary Westwood of Thinkerbox. The event was also attended by Alick Kitchin, business director of EBS, and Melanie Sturmheit from EBS's local partner, eDegree.
July 2007 graduation in Edinburgh

On 10 July 2007, Heriot-Watt University held its summer graduation ceremony to confer degrees on graduands of EBS programmes. Over 150 graduands made the journey to Edinburgh to accept their degree in person from Baroness Susan Greenfield, Chancellor of Heriot-Watt University, at a ceremony in the James Watt Centre on the main university campus.
The ceremony was followed by a garden party in the sunken garden in the grounds of the university, where champagne and strawberries were served to graduates and their friends and family on a warm and sunny Scottish summer day.

Heriot-Watt University Club (Hong Kong) hold their wine-tasting event.

Twenty alumni and students gathered at L'Ivresse des Muses for the most recent event organised by Heriot-Watt University Club (Hong Kong).
Participants enjoyed tasting various wines from around the world, whilst Ada Leung, owner of the wine cellar, educated the audience by explaining the wine characteristics and the regions in which they are grown.
