Admissions and application
If you want to study an MBA or MSc programme by distance learning, you should read the relevant Student Handbook, listed below, to ensure that you understand the programme structure. You should then order your first course and start to study as an independent learner. You can then formally ‘matriculate’ (be accepted as a student of Heriot-Watt University) when you have either:
- downloaded and completed a matriculation form and provided evidence of your prior academic qualifications (normally a degree with first or second class honours from a university recognised by Heriot-Watt University); or
- successfully completed three courses, at least one of which must be a core course for the relevant MBA or MSc programme. ‘Successfully completed’ means having purchased, studied and passed the relevant examination in each subject.
If you want to study our MBA programme full-time or part-time on campus in Edinburgh, please read the relevant section of our website.
Our MSc programmes are not available for full- or part-time study on campus in Edinburgh. However, you can apply to attend the 4-day intensive seminars and 2-day exam revision sessions that we run on a regular basis for certain subjects in these programmes.
If you want to study at one of our Approved Learning Partners, please contact the partner for application forms.
If you want to study the DBA programme, please read the relevant Student Handbooks and see the DBA information on this website. Please note that the DBA is only available by distance learning.
The EBS Student Handbooks will help to guide you through your programme. They provide background information on EBS and the MBA, DBA and MSc programmes, as well as procedural guidance notes and a full list of exam regulations.
