The facilities

The Pod, Edinburgh Business SchoolThe Edinburgh Business School complex comprises Edinburgh Business School, the Business Executive Centre, dining facilities and a luxury accommodation complex. You will also have access to the extensive campus sports facilities.

The School has two purpose-built teaching theatres that can both take up to 60 delegates, with each person seated at a large table in a comfortable, adjustable swivel chair. These theatres can be set up for in a variety of formats to facilitate lectures/presentations, or boardroom-style / conference-style meetings. If required, a wireless touch-sensitive control panel gives each presenter complete and intuitive control over the operation of the room and its equipment.

A teaching room at Edinburgh Business SchoolEach theatre also has six fully equipped break-out/syndicate rooms with flip charts, internet access and tables and chairs for up to ten people. Each has its own separate lounge for coffee and refreshments. A third teaching area, the Auditorium, seats up to 120 people in fixed-style seating.

The facilities are available to rent all year round and are open from 7.00am until 10.00pm, seven days a week.

The Business Executive Centre

Breakout area at the Business Executive CentreNext to Edinburgh Business School is the Business Executive Centre, a well-appointed and superbly equipped stand-alone venue for small seminars. Purpose-designed for intensive management training and executive meetings, the Business Executive Centre offers a stress-free setting where the need for privacy and peace and quiet is recognised and respected.

At the heart of the centre is a carefully planned Teaching Room for up to 40 delegates. Sophisticated digital display facilities and a fully integrated room control system provide a simple to operate but highly effective presentation environment. Breakout/syndicate rooms are adjacent to the Teaching Room and the centre has its own comfortable coffee lounge.

Dining

Dining facilities at the EBS BistroThe Bistro, within the atrium of Edinburgh Business School, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and also offers casual eating options, including sandwiches, snacks and coffee. There is a separate dining area for receptions and functions, or for smaller groups who prefer private dining.

Most catering requests can be accommodated – whether you are looking for a formal dinner or an informal barbecue.

Buffet lunches for delegates are normally served in the coffee lounges in Edinburgh Business School and the Business Executive Centre.

Catering outlets and services throughout EBS and the wider university campus are equipped to meet special dietary requests.

Sports

Groups using Edinburgh Business School have full access to the university's Centre for Sport and Exercise. This includes three halls, one with a climbing wall and another with an artificial surface for five-a-side football and indoor tennis. There are also three floodlit synthetic tennis courts, four conditioning suites and eight squash courts.

Luxury accommodation

Bedroom accommodation is a two-minute walk away, in the Paul Stobart Building, a deluxe complex of 30 bedrooms located on three floors and serviced by a lift and stairs.

Accommodation at the Paul Stobart buildingEach spacious room is superbly furnished and equipped with a king-sized bed and has en-suite bath and shower facilities and a wall-mounted hair dryer.

All rooms have internet access and ample desk space for private study. A private balcony or patio provides the ideal space for quiet reflection after a demanding day of seminars and lectures.

Other features include a colour television and video recorder. Tea- and coffee-making facilities are also provided.

The requirements of any disabled delegate are met by a specially designed bedroom and en-suite bathroom on the ground floor of the building.

Should you require additional accommodation, there are other conference bedrooms on campus; alternatively, there are a selection of hotels in the area.
