Edinburgh Business School

The Edinburgh Business School (EBS) at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh is best known for its innovative MBA programme, generating over 10,000 MBA graduates in the last decade.

EBS was listed as the second biggest business school in the world, by the 2003 Financial Times survey of top distance learning MBAs. There are currently 9,000 students actively studying the MBA programme from 150 countries around the world. It is also one of the most successful business schools in the world - in 2004, EBS broke the cumulative £100 million turnover mark for global life sales since 1989.

The EBS offers the most applied courses in Europe. EBS is highly praised in the world of business - over 50% of the top Fortune 100 companies have employees on EBS programmes.

The School is unique in terms of its teaching methods and the flexibility which enables students to study to suit their learning needs and lifestyle.

EBS has pioneered the delivery of MBAs at postgraduate level in different languages such as Chinese and Spanish and has significant numbers in every major world market, including the USA, mainland China, Japan, South Africa and Switzerland. The School has also recently signed an agreement with Arab International Education, which will launch the Arab-translation of the course in the 22 countries of the region.

EBS has recently diversified from its MBA to a DBA which in 15 months has over 160 students and will launch another five Masters programmes in 2006.

The School is self sufficient in its finances, and reinvests any surplus back into the development of new programmes, its faculty, and the translation of its courses.
