John Joseph Benn, Scotland
John Benn, who hails from Oban in Scotland, started his MBA with EBS in 2000 and had a number of personal challenges to cope with along the way. He changed jobs and had some personal challenges, not least a new baby, all within two years of starting the course.
"These events placed a great deal of extra stress on me and my family, but their total commitment to my objectives helped me cope with the challenge. Also, I had done a full-time on-campus degree with Heriot-Watt earlier and I was familiar with the School and its high standards, so I knew what EBS would expect of me. Coming back and doing a course on what was fundamentally a part-time basis - thus being able to focus on my job at the same time - was perhaps the biggest advantage of doing this programme."
