Martin Dowling BSc PgDip MA FCIPD MHEA
Martin Dowling is Director of Postgraduate Programmes at the School of Management, University of St Andrews. He was formerly Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management at Dundee Business School, University of Abertay, Dundee. He is a member of the British Academy of Management (BAM), the British Universities Industrial Relations Association (BUIRA) and the Higher Education Academy (HEA), and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). He is an external examiner for the CIPD, and is currently Vice-Chair of the Mid-Scotland Branch of the Institute. He has been a Visiting Professor at a number of overseas institutions and has wide experience as an external examiner within the UK higher education system. His current research interests are in the areas of organisational change and HR strategy, partnership working in organisations and union recognition in the offshore oil industry.
