I am originally from Canada and my first degree was a Bachelor of Engineering degree from one of the top Canadian Universities. I started my career in Telecommunications in Montreal Quebec and after a number of years as a design engineer of mobile communication systems I was promoted to management. I soon discovered that I needed to formally enhance my qualifications –through an MBA - in order to more effectively perform my duties.

My job requirements included frequent travel as well as long term international assignments. This meant that the MBA program I was going to pursue had to be flexible and location independent. After a considerable search I decided to pursue the MBA distance learning program offered by Heriot-Watt University's Edinburgh Business School (EBS).

The program could be pursued in any part of the world that had post services since at that time there were no online courses and the mode of study was done through high quality courses that were quickly mailed to the required destination. In addition, examination center locations were always conveniently close by, while access to the university's support services was quick, efficient, reliable, and a phone call away. I entered the program while I was in Montreal Canada, continued studying while working in Saltillo Mexico and successfully completed the program in Athens Greece.

My pursuit for higher education through the EBS MBA program resulted in directly upgrading my professional qualifications. This was due to the high quality nature of the MBA program, and the fact that Heriot-Watt University and Edinburgh Business School are internationally well known, highly respected and highly acclaimed institutions.

My experience with the Heriot-Watt EBS MBA program was extremely positive and was one of the reasons I agreed to become a local ambassador for the Edinburgh Business School.
