Dr Ahmad joined the DBA team at Edinburgh Business School in March 2019.
Dr Ahmad teaches business research methods and supervises doctoral candidates. He is also member of EBS’ doctoral review committee that monitors quality and progress of the School’s DBA students.
Dr Ahmad completed his PhD at Åbo Akademi University, Finland, where he later worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher and lecturer. He has taught courses on knowledge management, knowledge creation, information behaviour and competitive intelligence.
Dr Ahmad’s research is largely interdisciplinary and diverse. It focuses on the areas of knowledge management, language diversity and workplace information literacy. He uses sociolinguistic theories to explore power, social networks and communication implications of language diversity and organisational multilingualism for knowledge management in multinational organisations.
Dr Ahmad is currently carrying out research on the impact of information literacy, a concept that originates from information science, in organisational contexts. He is also a part of Digital Workplace Information Literacy project (DiWIL), in which he explores the antecedents and consequences of information literacy capabilities of organisational leadership and employees with a particular focus on ambidextrous innovation, social capital and organisational change.
He has expertise in structural equation modeling and case study research, and has conducted quantitative and qualitative research which has been published in international journals and presented at various conferences.
