Dr Jesus Canduela is an Assistant Professor in business research methods at Edinburgh Business School.
Dr Canduela enjoyed a career in the professional sector as a statistician and consultant, in addition to a career in academia where he was previously a Lecturer at the School of Management at Edinburgh Napier University. Dr Canduela joined Edinburgh business School in March 2018.
Dr Canduela’s major research interests lie in the area of employment, research methods and social cohesion. His current research projects include: the influence of employee ownership on worker engagement and commitment, and electronic word of mouth and customer behaviours in relation to purchase intention.
Dr Canduela is an expert in multivariate modelling and forecasting and is also an experienced user of secondary data sources such as the EU-SILC, LFS, BHPS, WERS, and many other large datasets. He is a confident user of the statistical package SPSS and has experience of STATA and SAS.
Dr Canduela has years of experience teaching research methods and supervising students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He currently mentors and supervises doctoral students and teaches the introduction to business research 4-day seminars for the doctoral programmes at Edinburgh Business School.
Dr Canduela has a keen interest in diving, having traveled from Egypt to Australia to pursue his passion.
