Lasma’s background and areas of interest are political science, public policy, international development, and research methodology. Lasma holds an MSc in International Development from the University of Edinburgh and has spent several years working in the non-governmental sector in London. In addition, she has a degree from University College London in Politics, Security, and Integration. 

Building on her interest in research, she gained an MRes degree and began working as a Tutor for several methodology courses at the University of Glasgow. She is currently working on her PhD thesis (University of Glasgow), which is focused on the US-Russia relations. 

Lasma joined EBS in 2018 as a Research Assistant to work on a project examining the progress of women on the board of directors of companies.
