Shirin Jarrar is a Senior Teaching Fellow of accounting and finance and the MBA Programme Director at Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University Dubai.
With her team, Shirin established Edinburgh Business School’s part-time and full-time MBA programme at the Dubai Campus.
With responsibility for overseeing the academic and operational delivery of the MBA programme, Shirin also plays a vital role in the promotion of the programme in the region. She has mentored hundreds of MBA students during their studies and she is an academic mentor to students competing in prestigious external business competitions.
Shirin has been a very active member of the academic senior leadership team at Heriot-Watt University Dubai, and since the establishment of the campus in 2007, has contributed to the development and operational aspect, as well as overall strategy. She has also delivered finance and accounting courses to postgraduate and undergraduate students studying in Dubai.
Shirin comes from a professional business background, she worked for several years as a Commercial Manager for many international brands such as BMW AG, LandRover, Samsung appliances and other European industrial machinery manufacturers in the Middle East. She has used her knowledge and experience as part of the panel of many business competitions.
