Colin has been lecturing on the MBA programme for a number of years now, specialising in accountancy.
His background is in commerce and he runs his own business (Square 1 Consultants), providing advice and management consulting service services to small and medium sized businesses in the UK and Europe. He also designs and delivers tailored training courses for both private and public sector organisations.
Before starting his own business, Colin was employed by the UK's leading venture capitalist 3i. In addition to being responsible for monitoring the performance of a portfolio of investments, his role included the identification, investigation, negotiation and completion of a number of new investments in both start-up and existing companies.
Over the last 30 years or so, Colin has worked (and continues to work) as a corporate director, sometimes in an executive role and sometimes in a non-executive capacity, in many fields including hotels, knitwear manufacturing, food production and distribution, property, biotechnology, software development and management training.
He brings a “practical, commercial, hands-on” approach to accountancy and its importance within the MBA programme.
