She also has an MSc in International Health and Social Development, which she studied for after working as Headquarters Manager for an international aid agency. Travelling to countries affected by war in the late 1990’s changed her view of life and encouraged her to keep on learning about the issues she encountered.
She enjoys learning and has also gained useful qualifications in Project Management and Investment Management along the way. Her current studies are for a qualification in Internal Audit.
In January 2012 she joined Edinburgh Business School in a role which she says makes use of her range of qualifications and experience. She feels that one of the most enjoyable aspects of her job is the opportunity it gives her to encourage her team to keep learning and develop their full potential.
She says ‘Believing as I do in the importance of education and the ability to access it - at whatever stage in life or whatever location - Edinburgh Business School is the perfect place to work. Distance learning is the ideal way to add to your qualifications at your own pace, in your own time. It’s particularly suited to those who have work and family commitments but want to progress’.
