Sunbelt Conference 26th June - 1st July 2018

Five members of Edinburgh Business School's Centre for Networks and Enterprise (CNE), set up to facilitate research in network science for the business community, will attend this year’s Sunbelt Conference in Utrecht, the Netherlands.


The Conference, organised by the International Network for Social Network Analysis (INSNA), is an interdisciplinary venue for social scientists, mathematicians, computer scientists and ethnologists, to name but a few.

Its official journal, Connections, was previously edited by CNE’s Director, Dr Dimitris Christopolous, and Professor Heather McGregor with support from EBS’ publication team.

The presentation timings are as follows:
 
29th June 2018
 
10am – 10:20am: Dr Christopolous will be presenting his paper “Collaboration in Policy Networks: The role of Leadership and Preference Similarity” under the theme “Changing policy networks, changing policy outcomes over time?”

11am – 11:20am: Professor McGregor will be presenting her paper, in collaboration with Thea House, Rafal Sitko and Dr Christopolous, “Delivering social capital in management education” under the theme “‘Social Capital - state of the art and new directions”.
 
4:40pm – 5:00pm: Yasaman Sarabi will be presenting her paper, in collaboration with Dr Christopolous and Professor McGregor, “Gender in Corporate Interlocks: Dynamic Analysis of UK FTSE100” under the theme “The effect of women’s workplace networks on their chances of obtaining positions of authority”.

 1st July 2018
 
11:20am – 11:40am: Helen Cross will be presenting her paper, in collaboration with Dr Christopolous, “Barriers to sustainable innovations: Towards new policies for aquaculture in Scotland” under the theme “Network Approaches for Understanding Collaborative Environmental Governance”.
