MBA graduate reflects on her time at Edinburgh Business School

Tracey Lebeanya worked as a director of business development and clinic operations in the US, before she decided to move to Dubai to study a full-time MBA. She never looked back.

At Heriot-Watt University Dubai campus, Tracey was welcomed by a community rich in equally ambitious students, it was the perfect environment for her to grow professionally and to take on the intellectual challenges of the programme.

During her studies, Tracey signed up to take part in the AECOM Global Challenge 2018, organised by an engineering design firm, which serves clients in more than 150 countries, and has attracted 470 business ideas.

Her team achieved a fantastic result, coming in the top 10 worldwide. By participating in the programme, EBS students gained some of the most sought after professional skills.

Tracey graduated with an MBA with specialism in Strategic Planning in June 2018, and set up her own corporate strategy consulting firm, Ellery Consulting.

Tracey said: “I utilise the incredible education I received from Edinburgh Business School to help organisations create and capture lasting value.”

The MBA graduate admits that she follows the mantra of PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel, who once said: “A great company is a conspiracy to change the world.”

She added: “My ambition is to own a company that helps build other great companies. What has stuck with me in all my interactions during and after my MBA journey, is the feeling that Edinburgh Business School was truly invested in helping me succeed.”
