EBS alumni recognised in Queen’s New Year Honours List
Patricia Armstrong, Chief Executive of the Association of Chief Officers of Scottish Voluntary Organisations (ACOSVO), received an Order of the British Empire (OBE), for her services to voluntary organisations.
Pat and her team support over 450 third-sector leaders in Scotland. She joined ACOSVO
, which is a membership organisation, in 2003 and has worked tirelessly to provide development opportunities for third sector leaders ever since. She’s also a board member of OSCR, the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator and EUCLID, the European network to empower civil society and social enterprise.
“'I'm absolutely delighted to receive this honour. I’m also very humbled to work amongst so many amazing, inspiring third sector leaders – it’s an honour very much shared and a recognition of the excellent leadership shown across the sector in Scotland.
“My MBA has given me confidence and credibility – and an incredibly useful basis for developing my own leadership and management style over the years. It has also contributed to the development programmes we now offer to third sector leaders across Scotland.
“One of many new programmes we have developed at ACOSVO includes establishing the Leadership Exchange Programme
, which brings together leaders from across the third, public and private sectors for cross sectoral peer support, good practice sharing, and leadership development.
“I continue to benefit from the experience and skills gained during my studies in my professional life and I often recommend the Edinburgh Business School MBA
to others - the flexibility of this programme is invaluable and enabled me to fit my studies around my work and family commitments.”
