Professor Heather McGregor, Executive Dean of Edinburgh Business School was amongst the panellists on the second day of SIBOS 2017, a three-day event held this year in Canada and widely regarded as the premier financial services event.

The SIBOS event is the annual conference, exhibition and networking event organised by SWIFT for the financial industry.

Amongst other topics of discussion, Professor McGregor was asked about the potential effects of Brexit, and also on the results of an audience poll on which city would replace London as a global financial centre in the wake of Brexit.

Professor McGregor commented: “I know that London is the financial centre of the world.

“I don’t think that Brexit is going to matter at the end of the day – I think we will keep calm and carry on.”
