In 2010 we launched a massive scholarship scheme across Africa – giving 250 people the opportunity to study our flagship MBA programme. It was the largest scholarship scheme ever offered by a UK university in Africa, giving 50 full scholarships each year for five years.

Its aim was to enable disadvantaged applicants to gain advanced management skills and expertise, helping them to effect change in their organisations and local communities.

After five years and in conjunction with the Canon Collins Trust, Edinburgh Business School is proud to have awarded 250 scholarships to students in: Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

To date 55 scholars have graduated with their MBA degree and the remaining scholars are progressing well.

The African Scholarship Scheme is now closed to any further applications.
