EBS Seminar attracts business professionals from across Arab World

On the evening of Tuesday 24th April, despite an unusual rainstorm, crowds of students and alumni gathered at the Nile Ritz-Carlton hotel in Cairo, Egypt.

Dr Barbara Jamieson delivered a seminar on “How Marketing can help build competitive advantage for you and your business in the 21st century. The event, followed by an evening reception, was hosted by Edinburgh Business School and supported by Heriot-Watt’s alumni association, the Watt Club.

Adam Gillies, Alumni Engagement Officer said:

“We were delighted with the popularity of the event and Dr Jamieson’s seminar was very well received. Some attendees had travelled from as far as Saudi Arabia and Sudan to attend which is a wonderful example of how enthusiastic our students and alumni are to meet and network with one another.”

During the seminar students and graduates were encouraged to think about how they can brand themselves in the future and to practice this during informal discussions later in the evening. The reception was also attended by Edinburgh Business School Arab World and representatives from EBS Approved Learning Partners, The American University in Cairo.

The event is another in the series of seminars organised by EBS to encourage students and alumni to get to know one another and build their professional networks.
