The MBA runs for one year, starting in September. You'l be based on our Edinburgh campus, but will spend one term studying in Dubai.

We're now accepting applications for our 2018 intake.

Our full-time MBA is equally relevant whether you’re starting a new business or looking to develop your entrepreneurial spirit within an organisation. You'll develop the skills, and discover the tactics needed to effectively refine, apply and test your business ideas; analysing industry data, supply chains, market conditions and competitor environments, to name a few.

You'll hear from international industry leaders on how they've used innovation to drive their organisations. And, with a schedule of 20 company visits you'll have multiple opportunities to grow your international professional network.

You'll be supported by our leading British faculty, and be assigned your own business mentor who will guide you throughout your studies. You’ll study the foundations of traditional business-planning techniques and the emerging tactics of today’s entrepreneurs, such as, social media and crowdfunding. Finally, you’ll create a business plan for your venture complete with marketing strategy, capitalisation plans and aspirations. 

You will own all the intellectual property (IP) rights associated with your business plan. If you receive funding from an employer or financial sponsor however, you must must come to an agreement with them on intellectual property rights and ownership.

You’ll graduate with a prestigious British Master’s degree from a world-class business school, with an investor-ready business plan, and our ongoing support post-graduation and beyond.

Our full-time MBA in Edinburgh

One year, two locations

Ten months in Edinburgh, six weeks in Dubai

While in Edinburgh you'll be based on Heriot-Watt University's Riccarton campus, and for six weeks you'll be based on our Dubai campus. In both locations you'll have opportunities to broaden your professional network with multiple industry visits.

Graduate with all IP rights, and an investor-ready business plan

Your ideas belong to you

Edinburgh Business School does not own any IP rights on your Ideas. You will own all the intellectual property (IP) rights associated with your business plan. If you receive funding from an employer or financial sponsor however, you must come to an agreement with them on IP rights and ownership.

20 industry visits!

in Edinburgh and Dubai

We'll schedule 20 visits to local and international companies from a variety of sectors so that you can experience the issues and challenges that businesses face first hand.

Entrepreneurial courses

Entrepreneurship and Creativity and Entrepreneural Venturing

These courses will help you develop, refine and apply your business ideas. They'll give you the skills to test your business' feasibility in the marketplace and create a business plan for your venture.

Employability masterclasses

Monthly live and interactive events

Professor Heather McGregor will lead a series of seminars giving advice on career progression, post-study career support and more.

Fees

Total fee £20,000

Following your successful application you will pay a 10% deposit, followed by two instalments of £9,000. Fees include return flights between Dubai and Edinburgh and six weeks accommodation in Dubai.

Admission criteria

What do you need?

Admission to the MBA programme is by application and acceptance
You are expected to have:

A recognised first- or second-class honours degree, or a qualification deemed to be equivalent, a minimum of three years' post-qualifying work experience of a relevant nature.


Is English your first language?

The on-campus programme is taught in English so you must provide evidence of competence in the English language with: Academic IELTS: 6.5 (achieved within two years of your application date, and with no score lower than 6.0 in each section) or other HWU recognised qualification.

When can you start?

The programme starts in September. We recommend you submit your application at least two months before the start date. This will allow time for processing and visa applications.
